So here I am once more…

…in my studio…my ‘man-cave’…or better, my library, that is used to record and edit my video’s, play computer games and write posts for my website, which I should do way more often. I’m here, because I was sent here…

My wife sent me to my room! Can you imagine that? But she had a good reason for doing so. For the past two weeks, due to people being on vacation and otherwise unavailable, I had to take on a second, very important task at my dayjob: managing the phone where people can report malfunctions and I have to arrange that someone goes there and fixes it. Trust me, this is a very demanding job!

Since I am new to the company and still learning my onw job, getting this on top of that, took a a lot of energy! Inititially I thought I could handle it, but last week I found I couldn’t. The first thing that was dropped, was making new videos. Soon after I had to drop the interview I was working on, with Andy Tillison from The Tangent, something I was really looking forward to. (No worries, this will happen, but at a later date!). And I could not muster the strength to record the parts for my guestDJ spot at Prog Radio (That also will happen at a later date!)

These are all things that normally give me energy, but I’m too tired to do any of them 🙁 Many evenings I simply fall alseep on the couch and sleep all evening. Unfortunately my employer has no ways to change it.

Fortunatly light is at the end of the tunnel…or rather this week! Tomorrow should be the last day I have to do this! And another good thing: after that only one more week of work and them two weeks off! I’m so looking forward to that! Two weeks of more sleep, no traffic jams, watching movies, listening to lots of music and…creating new videos!

There are a few things I still want to do: do reviews of the excellent My Arrival album Lost 3mbers, do a video on the band Ageless, which I recently discovered through The Prog Corner. Many do end year lists. I’ve never done these, but I have two videos I want to make in that respect: A video of the albums I listened to this year, albums that were released or that I discovered this year. In the form of a looking back video.

And a video of what LiveProg will bring in 2025. Two things are important for me in 2025: I am planning to change my direction. I will focus less on album reviews and more (much more!) on interviews, both in person and online. And of course the fact that in March 2025, it will be 15 years since I started LiveProg! So reason for a celebration!

The year may end, but my love for Prog and LiveProg has only just begun to burn bright! Join me for all things to come!
