Introducing: Matrix, a virtual band bringing a tale about Bigfoot
I’m always happy to discover new music and new bands. Sometime musicians actively seek out outlets to promote their music to. This way I have discovered music from Bantar, Phonya and Stratospheerius. And adding to that list: Matrix. An unusual name for a band, probaly mainly associated with the movie with the same name. But, watch the interview, because Tom Hoermann, the man behind Matrix does explain the name and it actually makes sense.
Tom was kind enough to send me a copy of the album, which made quite trip through postal hell! But in the end it reached me and the booklet offers a lot to the experience of the music. The album is about a journey and the booklet is the travel diary, that provides the backstory to support the music.
Although Camel does have a song called Sasquatch, to my knowledge there is no album that is entirely inspired by Bigfoot. Matrix brings with Mountain Legend a compect album about the search for the mythical Bigfoot, with a surprising result.
Tom Hoermann decided to venture into music after his retiment and created this album together with his brother and a few guest musicians. He found John Mitchell (Arena, Frost*, Lobely Robot) willing to mix and master the album. It is defintely an interesting album and worth to be heard.
