The Imaginaerium Podcast with Clive Nolan and Laura Piazzai

The second album by Imaginaerium, Siege is out as of today, April 4th 2025. A week before the release I had the pleasure to talk with Clive Nolan and Laura Piazzai about the new album, the history of Imaginaerium and a lot more, because along the way some really nice anecdotes surfaced!

Although I know Clive for around 25 years, i was not familiar with Laura Piazzai. Last year I came across the first Imaginaerium album, Rise of the Medici, which I missed because of my prog hiatus, and quite enjoyed this one. I was planning on getting in touch with Clive or Laura about an interview, but Laura beat me to it! initially it would be just the two of us, but Clive wanted to join in, so we had a really fun conversation.

Next to the stories around the album and the concept of Siege, there was mention of a burnt lasagna! Clive told a nice story about Tracy Hitchings wanting to play keyboards on a Stranger On A Train live performance. We talked about how Laura got in toch with Clive, which not only led to a story about a sliding doors moment, but also a stunning revelation by Laura!

And last, but very much not least, cats! And what critical role cats played in Clive’s musical history! So there you go…many reasons to enjoy this podcast!
