Plan Nine – How the Long-Lost Songs found their way to the stage – Stories behind the music

In 2024 Arjen Lucassen announced out of the blue that the musical project he and Robert Soeterboek worked on in the early 90s, was going to be released! Back then Arjen and Robert started working together under the monniker Plan Nine, after the worst film ever made. But the stars did not aline, that is, grunge became popular, so the music never saw the light of day.

But 30 odd years later things changed and the album was made. And even before the album was made, Robert already knew he would take the music to the stage! So he gathered a great band around him and toured through the Netherlands.

Almost a year after the release of the album, I met Robert and the band at De Cacao Fabriek in Helmond (NL) and sat down with him, Marcel Dignor, Jane Goulding and Koen Herfst for a chat about the album, the stories on how Robert and Arjen worked on the songs, what happened to the tapes they made and everuthing about the tour and playing live.
