Interview: The Aurora Project, back with a new album after 9 years!

I am late to the party…I know. I knew The Aurora Project was around, but like many other bands, for many reasons I never got round to really listen to them. That changed in january 2024, when Dutch Music Works had a sale and I decided to pick up two albums by The Aurora Project: Selling the Agression (on vinyl) and World of Grey (on CD).

World of Grey captured me…I could not stop playing the album and especially the song Stone Eagle gave me goosbumps. So I decided to follow the band and at the right time, because at a certain moment these mysterious podcasts appeared on YouTube…

Shortly the news followed: The Aurora Project were about to release a new album, 9 years after World of Grey. EVOS12, a mysterious name and the first song Slave City gave an impression of what to expect.

The release of the album happened on february 21st, at the WPC Nederland 3 venue in Wateringen, a small town close to The Hague. So I travelled to Wateringen, to mee up with Remco van den Berg (guitars) and Dennis Binnekade (vocals), to have a chat about the new album and the return of TAP…and of course about their new guitarist Alex Ouwehand.

It was a conversation that was recorded between the soundchecks, but we made it work 🙂
